# WhatsApp Setup

> Configure WhatsApp notifications via Twilio

WhatsApp messaging uses the same Twilio integration as SMS.

## Prerequisites

* Twilio account with WhatsApp enabled
* A WhatsApp-enabled Twilio number

## Configuration

WhatsApp uses the same Twilio credentials as SMS. Once your Twilio account is configured in **Settings > Communications**, WhatsApp messages will be sent automatically to customers who have WhatsApp-compatible phone numbers.

## Message Templates

WhatsApp messages support rich formatting including emojis and line breaks. Customise your templates in **Settings > Notifications**.
